What Winter Asks of Women
Winter is not the season to outrun.
The early, dark sky mirrors our tolerance for noise. As the sun sets earlier and the cold arrives, our instincts turn inward.
Sometimes we bear the unhealthy inward too much, such as experiencing ‘seasonal depression’, when it really may just be ‘spiritual depression’.
The season doesn’t ask much of output. but it does ask for careful integration.
Winter is where the feminine rebuilds her internal architecture
Things decay, go into hibernation, and die in the winter, we know this.
What falls away in the outer world mirrors something essential happening within us too, not as a loss, but as recalibration.
The pause, the dimming, and the quiet you feel with winter is essential in reading your internal compass.
Winters’ shadows allows us to read ourselves again., and more importantly to not resist it.
But culture doesn’t want us to descend.
It wants us available, responsive, pleasant, and busy even when your body and spirit are asking for retreat.
Winter is your permission slip.
To rest, withdraw, retreat, and re-enter life on your own terms. All without apology, explanation and performance.
The menstrual cycle’s built-in descent
Every month, your menstrual cycle gives you a micro-winter.
This is your bleed, your flow, your ‘period’.
Crucial hormones drop, your energy dips and you want to crawl into bed.
Many women choose to fight the innate design of honoring this phase by pushing through it, apologizing for it, or pretend it’s not happening.
Really, are we realizing the inside of our bodies are shedding?
It’s literally your built-in truth channel, an internal audit so to say.
Depending on personal circumstances, you might realize a certain food choice didn’t stick well in this last cycle.
Or how certain characters actualize when your intuition is focused inwards.
Your clarity is on high here if you can allow the silence in.

What winter asks of women
Slow down to hear yourself.
Your inner voice is not gone, you’re just too stimulated to notice her. Close your eyes, take a breath, relax, and listen.
Ask yourself: What is asking for my attention right now— to be deepend, tended to, or released?
Release what you’ve outgrown.
Winter is brutally honest in death. It prepares us for the new life brought in the upcoming season of change and transformation.
Let the drama go, let it go with reverence.
Allow yourself not to know.
The unknown and darkness is not a punishment. This is where life rearranges itself quitely in collaboration with you.
What if uncertainty is an invitation into deeper co-creation?
Detach from external rhythms and return to your own.
Step out of imposed timelines, expectations and productivity cycles. It’s time to tap into your body, intuition, and energy intelligence.
If you refuse the wintering
Your body will keep score remembering:
burnout
irritability
menstrual pain
loss of direction
resentment
creative blocks
spiritual disconnection
These misalignments come into fruition if we cannot honor the arc of our energy, in ebb and flow.
In what way have you refused the descent, seasonally or your menstrual cycle? What focuses and challenges were present, how did you feel moving through them?
Winter is the liminal door
Primed with the most biologically aligned moment to stop pretending, winter is the season of:
micro-withdrawals from things that drain you
re-evaluating your cravings
returning to rituals that reconnect you to your higher self or inner child
noticing what no longer resonates when everything external gets quiet
The liminal is the part no one talks about because it’s the part we resist since it requires losing our old self without having enough evidence that a new one is coming.
It requires trusting the pause, trusting the rebuilding, and trusting the dark (literally and emotionally).
Remember, wealth compounds with time; this is not the sprint.
It is the quiet decisions, subtle ritual shits and the moments you choose self-honoring over self-abandonment.
The liminal may seem scary but don’t fear, it is not a threat.
It’s the threshold allowing you to rebuild your inner world so your outer world can finally match it.
Your next steps
Is to simply begin, now!
Notice what your body is signaling to you in this very second, what are you pushing, and what do you actually want to do?
Let questions surface without any demanding answers.
May your descent be transformative and everything you need.
Here for you always!
